Case study — Powersports dealer

Booked six weeks out. That’s what local SEO did for D&P.

D&P Performance is a powersports dealership in Cedar City. Like most dealers, they were on a DealerSpike template: a site they paid for every month, couldn’t change, and didn’t rank. Customers who searched for service, parts, or a specific Can-Am model in Southern Utah were finding other dealers.

Where they started

  • A locked template site with no local search presence
  • Service department relying on walk-ins and existing customers
  • Ad spend going out with no way to tell what came back

What we did

Moved them off DealerSpike onto a custom site they own. Faster, mobile-first, and every page editable. Full technical write-up: DealerSpike migration →

Ran a local SEO campaign built around the searches Southern Utah riders actually type: model names, service, parts, and city. Ten targeted articles plus the page structure to support them.

Set up Meta and Google conquest campaigns so the dealership shows up when someone in the area is shopping a competitor.

Monthly in-person meetings to review what’s working and adjust. Needs change; the plan changes with them.

The result

Service scheduling went from same-week to six weeks out.

The service department was the fastest to move because service searches are the most local. When “UTV service Cedar City” and the model-specific searches started landing on D&P’s pages, the calendar filled.

What this means if you’re a dealer

If you’re on DealerSpike, Dealer Car Search, or any template your provider controls, you’re paying for a site that works for them, not you. Template Rescue moves you onto a site you own, and the local SEO that follows is what fills the service calendar.
